Chapter's History
Phoenicia Royal Arch Chpater concecrated under Scottish Juristriction, Saturday 11/12/1937. Chapter's founders, all 42 of them, were English, Arabs and Jews, all Brethren of lodges worked in the north of Israel. The English companions were mostly civil servants, railway workers and employees of the Iraqi Petroleum Company. The Lodges from which came the founding companions were "Hiram" 1351, "Caramel" 1081, "Salah a Din" 1071 from Acre and "Reuben" 1376.
It should be noted that the Scottish system is given the rank of "Mark Master" in Blue Lodge and the Brethren can find some Mason Marks in "Reuben" lodge registry.
Since the Brethren came from several lodges in the north, they searched for a neutral name or the Chapter and came up with "Phoenicia"Royal Arch # 688 under the auspices of Scottish and got to be No. 1 when it passed under the auspices of the Supreme Ryal Arch Chapter of the State of Israel in 1969.

Between 1947-1954, following the departure of the English, the chpater stopped working, and resumed activities after the establishment of Grand Lodge of the State of Israel in 1953.
