Checking & Correcting Proxy Settings:

These examples were made using Frontpage 2002 but earlier versions should be the same or similar.

To start, open your homepage with FrontPage and follow the instructions and graphical examples below:

1. On the Toolbar, click Tools, then Options from the menu.

2. In the Options Window, click on Proxy Settings.

3. Next, click on LAN Settings.

4. If your FrontPage is configured properly, only one box should be checked: "Automatically detect settings". If the entries in your box look like the screenshot below, containing Proxy information, proceed to the following instructions.

5. The Check-box: Use automatic configuration script must be "unchecked". Before doing this, highlight and remove everything in the Address box. If "proxy server" is also checked, you must uncheck it and clear any entries in the Address and Port boxes.
When finished, your configuration box must look like this:

6. Click Ok, and then OK in every window until you have exited from the Options menu.

You should now attempt to connect to our server again according to the standard instructions. If it doesn't work on the next try, close FrontPage and open it again. If you are unable to connect, check the Proxy settings again to make sure it has not changed back after you made the adjustments. If it has, follow the above directions again, but this time leave all boxes clear and unchecked.
