FROM THE EAST                                      11/9/08

Greetings Brethren!

Well, that time is finally arrived, and I am humbled and grateful to serve as your Worshipful Master for Farmers Lodge for the ensuing year! As many before me, I hope to have a great year, and earn your respect as your presiding officer. My main focus of the upcoming year is “Education”; Not only for our new Brothers who are experiencing the joys and mysteries of Freemasonry for the first time, but to also educate the Officers and Brethren of the Lodge, so that they may also have a better knowledge of our great fraternity of Freemasonry, and what it stands for.

We have a Very fine Officer Line this year, and not to mention, probably one of, if not the “youngest” Officer Lines in the District. This is the first time in a very long time, that we have no Past Masters in the Progressive Line. We have survived on the support of our Past Masters for many years, and it’s time we show them our appreciation, by letting them finally relax for a change, and be there to just “whisper good council in our ears”, as I’m sure we will need it!

I look forward to the challenges that lay before us, and hopefully, just as we are growing towards the future, let us not forget our past; as this is what our Great Fraternity is supported on.

I hope to see many new and hopefully familiar faces this year, from the youngest Entered Apprentice who stands in the Northeast Corner, or a Brother from another Lodge, or just as equally important, a fellow Brother of Farmers Lodge whom I have not had the pleasure of meeting for the first time. So if possible, try to make a meeting in the near future and see how your Brothers are doing!

I would also like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that we now have NEW Stated Meeting time of 7:30pm, and continue to meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month. This was voted on and approved at our last meeting, and hopefully this new time, will make it easier for our Brethren to attend meetings. Please do not hesitate to contact me, or if you would need any assistance to make it to a meeting sometime. Arrangements will be made to assist you. Hope to see you at Lodge sometime soon!

Sincerely & Fraternally,

Adam Wilson ~ Worshipful Master Elect

Greetings Brethren,

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Farmers Lodge had an exceptional year in 2008, and was very fortunate to welcome 6 new Brothers  into the Fraternity as Entered Apprentices! We also “Passed” 2 Brothers to the Degree of Fellowcraft, and “Raised” 2 Brothers to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason. On behalf of WB Kip Fleming [Worshipful Master 2008], a Sincere “Thank You” goes out to all of the Officers and Brethren, for all of your hard work and dedication , who took time out of their daily schedules and away from their families, to help support not only our Lodge, but this Great Fraternity.

And if December was any indication on how this New Year will go, we should have another great year in 2009! At our stated meeting in December, 2 examinations were returned, and on December 16th, Brother Joshua Gray was “Passed” to the degree of Fellowcraft; and on December 30th, Brother Joe Cocanour was “Raised” to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason. Congratulations to you both! Also, another well deserved “Thank You” to the members of the Tri-County Travelers Team for their support on the 30th, along with many other Brethren from not only our District, but also from outside the 19th District, who traveled many miles to show their support. It was also an honor to have an Officer of the Grand Lodge of Ohio in attendance for that evening, RWB Steven E. Cokonougher ~ Senior Grand Deacon.

As you can see Brethren, there are many activities going on at our Lodge right now, and looking forward, we will continue to do so. We should even have more degree work to perform next month if our candidates are ready, and could possibly be performing an Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, and also another Master Mason Degree in the month of January alone! Why not start the new year off by taking the time and visit with your Brothers & Friends who you haven’t seen in a while. I challenge each an every Brother of Farmers Lodge who hasn’t attended in a while to at least try to make at least one meeting this year. There will be several opportunities to enjoy in Fellowship in the upcoming months, not to mention our Annual Inspection on March 14th in the Fellowcraft Degree. Let’s show our support for these Officers on inspection night, and pack this little ole’ Lodge with as many of us as we can! As mentioned before in the last newsletter that was sent out, if you require assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me, or the Secretary, and arrangements will be made to assist you.

It is with a saddened heart, that December was also a time of sorrow, as Masonic Funeral Services were performed on December 7th, for Brother Larry J. Hahn; and once again on December 22nd, for Brother Elton G. Watson. Please continue to keep these families in your thoughts and prayers.

~ Well done, good and faithful servants.

Sincerely & Fraternally,

Adam Wilson ~ Worshipful Master

Greetings once again Brethren!

There has been a lot going on at Farmers Lodge since the last post. Inspection season is now upon us, and for those who have traveled with us, we have had a chance to see some very fine degree work throughout the district.

We have also been very busy with our own degree work. Brother John Robinson was “Initiated” as an Entered Apprentice on Tuesday, January 20th, and Brother Michael Kirby was “Passed” to the degree of Fellowcraft on the same evening.

In February, Brother Joshua Gray was “Raised” to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on Tuesday, February 10th, and Brother Michael Kirby was also “Raised” to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on Saturday, February 21st.

A very well deserved Thank You goes out to the Tri-County travelers, and also to the Brethren who also showed up to show their support to fill in spots where needed and even to help out on the Lectures! Thank You again Brothers - you know who you are!

I would also like to Thank the Brethren and the Officers of Farmers Lodge, who have taken the time out of their busy schedules and away from their families to continue to show their support, not only for the Lodge at our regular stated meetings, but also for the special meetings for our new Brothers, to help them along their path and giving them the outstanding degree work which they deserve, as others have previously done during your own journey when you started in this Fraternity. I know we have been very busy this year, as well as the previous year, and want you to know how much it is appreciated of your time, as it is one of the most valuable things that one can give..that of time.

Just a couple of other quick notes... Our Annual Inspection is almost upon us, and would like to encourage the Brethren of Farmers Lodge to come and show their support for their Officers, as they have been working diligently to perfect their work in the Fellowcraft Degree. Brethren, if you can only make one meeting during the year, why not come out and support these Officers on this night and pack this little ole’ Lodge with a bunch of “Farmers”. Let’s make it tough for the Senior Deacon and the Candidate to even walk around all of these Brothers!

Our Open House is also quickly approaching, and will be held the following weekend after our inspection on Saturday, March 21st. Please see the page “Open House” link at the bottom or right of the screen for details. If you know of anyone who is interested in joining the fraternity, bring them out and let them gain a little insight into this great Fraternity.

Sincerely & Fraternally,

Adam Wilson ~ Worshipful Master
