Valley of Cambridge Secretary

THOMAS C. FISHER

YOUR SECRETARY - THOMAS C. FISHER

Summer is over and the new Masonic year will soon be in full swing.  An item for most Masonic organizations at this time of year is dues notices.  The preparatory work has been done and hopefully the Valley’s will be in the mail shortly.  We have processed more than a few address changes recently.  The dues notices go out first class and they should be returned to the office if they are undeliverable.  The newsletters are sent bulk mail for the most part and we do not find out if bulk mail is undeliverable.  Addresses are a constant issue but Marie and I work hard to keep addresses up to date.  As you will see with your dues notice there is a $7.00 per year increase.  $3.50 of this increase was necessary because of the Supreme Council’s per  capita increase and the other $3.50 will go to the Valley’s general fund.

Another note on dues notices is that, as in the past, your 2009 dues card will be included with your dues notice if you are current with your dues.  Also there are some people who owe no dues because of life membership, endowments, prepay, senior, exempt, etc..  They will get a dues notice that should show $0.00 owed and the notice will also include their dues card.  We show three funds on the dues notices for your consideration of a contribution.  These funds are identified as the Learning Center, Ohio Masonic Home, and Endowment Fund.  In the last year the members of the Valley contributed $2490 to the Learning Center, $986 to the Ohio Masonic Home and $493 to the Membership Endowment.  This money was contributed as the members paid their dues.  The Membership Endowment’s income is used to support activities of the Valley.

The Fall Reunion is scheduled for November 14 and 15 and for the next year the Valley has adopted an incentive program for the top line signers of new candidates.  We will also credit restorations and hopefully we can improve the class size and create more enthusiasm for the reunion.  There is information about this program on Page 5.

The Valley is working hard to strengthen the area Scottish Rite Clubs.  Presently we have four clubs operating: East Ohio, Muskingum County, Perry County, and Washington County.  Please support the local Clubs and their activities.

Fraternally,

Tom Fisher-Executive Secretary
