First and Third Tuesday Night at 8:00 PM
(Dinner
before each meeting at 7 P.M.)
Greetings, Our lodge has
been serving the community of Callahan for over 138 years and our members have been active
participants in the rich history of Callahan, Nassau County and the State of Florida.
Our lodge and many of our present day Masonic members can trace our lineage back to
1856; that was the year Callahan was founded as a stop on the new Yulee Railroad.
The railroad was built to connect the East Coast of Florida to the Gulf Coast of Florida
from Fernandina to Cedar Key. Today, Callahan Lodge No. 32 has about 140
members. Most are men who go about their jobs and professions with no hint they are
Freemasons except for the way they lead their lives. Several elected officials have
belonged to Callahan Lodge No. 32 over the years, including: state senators, state
representatives, judges, county property appraiser, county commissioners, mayors, city
councilmen, county school board members, and other elected offices. Our lodge is one
of the oldest organizations in the county and one of the oldest lodges in our state.
Early members of our lodge helped to form other lodges and many of them became officers in
new lodges. Our lodge grew with our community and our goal is to continue to grow
while helping to build a better America. Many of our
members and most of our current lodge officers are military retirees or have proudly
served our nation in one of the Uniform Services of this great nation. Patriotism, a
desire to serve and fighting to defend our nation are hallmarks of Freemasonry and our
great brotherhood. |
