Order OF The Eastern Star

Central Alberta

OES Logo   Who We Are: The Order of the Eastern Star remains the largest fraternal organization in the world that is open to both men and women, with close to 1 Million members and 9,000 Chapters in 20 countries   Though its teachings use characters from both the Old and New Testaments, and it is essentially a Christian-based organization, non-Christians are certainly welcome to join.  Only a belief in a Supreme Being is required.   The Order of the Eastern Star is open to men who are Master Masons and female relatives, spouses and descendents of Master Masons

OES Logo What We Do: The Order of the Eastern Star was established in 1850 for the cultivation of fraternal, charitable and social practices.  The order is dedicated to CHARITY, TRUTH, AND LOVING KINDNESS.

Why We Do What We Do: During the last 20 years, the OES Foundation (Alberta) has contributed over $700,000 to the following organizations: Alzheimer’s Research, Juvenile Asthma, Autism, Diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis, and ESTARL (Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious Leadership).   In addition, on an annual basis, the Worthy Grand Matron chooses a specific project and significant funds are raised to support it.  The Eastern Star also supports and promotes the Masonic youth groups including the International Order of Job’s Daughters, the Rainbow Girls, and the Order of DeMolay.
