Charity
Each year Audenshaw Lodge supports good causes.
Remember there is more to charity than simply giving
money.
Listed below are some of the good causes and charities we have and are supporting:

East Lancashire 2015 Festival
The Province
of East Lancashire are support the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution (RMBI)
which cares for older Freemasons and their dependants.
The Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution, existing for almost
170 years, is the second oldest of our great Charities, which include the
Freemasons’ Grand Charity, the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys and the
Masonic Samaritan Fund. Collectively they give some £15 Million per year,
through the Provinces, to support our brethren and their dependants who are in
need. Of this more than £500K comes into East Lancashire. Nearly all of this
has been raised by brethren like us, during the various Masonic Festivals
running concurrently throughout Grand Lodge.
The RMBI is a very special charity offering immediate
response to calls for assistance from the needy brother or his family, and
providing exactly what is required from the excellent range of services they
have available. Each year the RMBI has to find an additional sum (in the region
of £5M) to pay for the charitable support of over 450 brethren and dependants
who have become unable to pay for their own care in RMBI Homes. The Charity
always steps in to supply the necessary funds!

Care or welfare packages are much appreciated by members of our Armed
Forces serving on overseas operations. They represent the support and goodwill
of people other than their own families and let them know that we are thinking
about them.

Cancer Research
UK
Around
285,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed each year in the UK. At Cancer
Research UK they are working hard to improve our understanding of cancer and
develop better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.
ELMC
The East
Lancashire Masonic Charity is here to care for and to afford charitable
assistance to needy Freemasons or their widows or to any of their dependent
relatives, and to reach out to others in the communities in which we live who
are deserving of our charitable support.
Audenshaw
Masonic Fellowship
Senior Citizens
with Masonic connections including wives, widows and close relatives or friends,
even those who have taken early retirement.
Each
meeting includes an interesting speaker in addition to which there is usually a
special summer coach outing and a Christmas lunch.
Audenshaw
Masonic Club
Audenshaw Masonic
Club is a Freemasons Hall, which is rented out for private functions, ie.
weddings, funerals, anniversaries, conferences, dinner dances and Christmas parties.
It is also the home for many Masonic groups, including Craft Lodges, Royal Arch
Chapters,
Mark Master Mason Lodges, Rose Croix, Knights Templar’s etc…
A building of this
size requires extra support from it Masonic members.
