Almoners Page
About the Almoner
Is a well-respected member of the Lodge with willingness and the ability
to visit sick Brethren and Widows. He has a natural ability to console and
listen and is able to respond quickly and positively to the needs of those
in distress. He has knowledge of the assistance available from all
sources, especially the "Department of Social Security".
The Almoner knows every Brother in the Lodge, his background and his
family commitments and he strives to keep close contact with all the Lodge
Officers, especially the Secretary and Charity Steward. He represents the
Lodge in all his dealings with the Brethren and their dependants. He
visits the sick, keeps in touch with them and looks after the interests of
the elderly members, and widows of former members of the Lodge.

He
writes letters of sympathy and condolence. |

He
enlists Brethren of the Lodge to assist him in escorting widows to
Lodge functions. |
|
He
reports regularly to the Lodge. |
|
He
has a good knowledge of the procedure to Instigate Petitions. |
|
He
investigates and reports on continuous absence from the Lodge.

how can members, and our Ladies help the Almoner?
Support
the Almoner by reporting issues to him and keep him up to date on
developments. You can also volunteer your services to visit those who are sick.
