| J. L. DOWTY, 90, of
Memphis, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at his home. Funeral
services will be 2 p.m., Friday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with
interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be
held one hour prior to the service. J. L. worked for Kroger and
K-Mart. He was the former owner of the Sunflower Grocery in Yazoo
City, MS. He was a member of White Station Baptist Church, was a 32
Degree Mason and a Shriner for over 50 years. He leaves his wife,
Margaret "Jo" Dowty; two nephews; and two nieces. The family
requests that any memorials be sent to White Station Baptist Church
or the charity of the donor's choice. Memorial Park Funeral Home
