Greetings My Brothers,
I wish to thank all the brothers that came and joined us in the Oakland Park parade. We had a great breakfast by Super chef Nick Canora at J.Dewey Hawkins Lodge. It was very exciting to have brothers from most of the other lodges as well as four young ladies from the Rainbow girls join us on the float. This is a district event which we hold every year. I want to particularly thank Bro. Bill Barlow for bringing out those great antique cars. At the park we had a booth and with the help of Jeff Jackson a young member from Coral Springs Lodge we have distributed over 200 child ID cards to the community.
I also wish to thank all those who participated at the Magic Children’s Fund. This has become a district function not just an Al MacDonald/Rick Shaw event. I am sorry that some lodges did not participate fully. The brothers at Pompano Lodge did the cooking under the “All seeing eye of R.W.Chef Canora and you must all agree it was a great evening.
At the end of this month we should be going to Grand Lodge at the Rosen Hotel. Please come to the hospitality room and support your district.
