The Scottish Rite Valley of Joplin is extending a helping hand to children who are threatened with a restricted lifestyle simply because they have difficulty understanding the spoken word. You can help with the treatment of language problems for these children through your participation in the Scottish Rite Speech and Language program.

In late 1996 The Valley of Joplin enetered into agreements with cooperating facilities and the Children's Miracle Network to provide speech and language disorder treatment and medical care neccessary to help those children affected throughout a 32 county area across southwest and central Missouri. Witht the assistance and cooperation of these health care facilities, these children will lead happy and successful lives. The program is now in place and working to provide respected hospitals, clinics and their staffs, including expert audiologists, speech pathologists, surgeons and physicians, with the funds necessary to treat the hundreds of afflicted children in this area.

With your help, children suffering from speech, hearing and language disorders will be put on the road to a full and productive life, a life that will make you proud you helped.

Your help is needed in carrying the program's message to the Scottish Rite clubs and other organizations throughout your area.

    I am Mel Tillis and I am proud to be working with other Scottish Rite Masons in support of over 115 childhood language disorder clinics we sponsor nationwide. These clinics teach affected children to deal with problems like aphasia, dyslexia and speech disorders...like stuttering.
    Highly trained proffesional staff and dedicated Scottish Rite Masons work together to curb the problems in pre-school children.
