Oriental Star Lodge #21 AF & AM met in its stated communication on May 21st with eight members, six visiting brothers and one guest present. Those assembled enjoyed a dinner of casseroles followed by a desert of fruit cocktail and with ice cream.
Lodge was opened in the master Mason degree.
The monthly newsletter of the grand master of the Grand Lodge of Maine was read.
It was voted to donate $100 dollars to the flag program being handled by George Bunten Post #10 American Legion. It was also voted to donate $200 to the Child Identification Program conducted by the Officers Association of the 20th Masonic District.
Our lodge will be closed during the months of June, July and August following an unanimous vote of the lodge.
Donald Simoneau, state chaplain of the American legion gave a very enlightening talk on the problems the veterans are having getting the medical service that they have been promised. He also gave a comprehensive update on the flag program that is being conducted by a group of interested citizens and headed by George Bunten Post #10 of the American Legion.
George Kimball, Fred Campbell and Ralph Clarke brought news of the upcoming events in the 20th Masonic district.
Lodge was closed in due form and harmony.
